Hertz Costa Rica is a company with over 55 years in the car rental market, being part of the unforgettable experiences that Costa Rica offers. We have branches at Daniel Oduber International Airport, Liberia, San José, Uvita, Jacó, Juan Santamaría International Airport, and Alajuela.

In recent years, we have worked tirelessly to improve our services and adapt to our customers' needs. Therefore, we have implemented differentiated options such as vehicle delivery directly at the airports, chauffeur service, wedding services, prepaid fuel, and premium vehicles.

One of the pillars of our commitment to the future is sustainability. At Hertz Costa Rica, we have adopted a comprehensive approach that combines environmental and social responsibility. We have implemented practices that reduce our carbon footprint, while also supporting future generations through education. We measure and mitigate the impact of our services through continuous vehicle maintenance and eco-friendly actions such as planting native trees in Guanacaste. Additionally, part of the funds raised through the PlanetYouth Fee is allocated to educational programs that empower young people in vulnerable situations.

The PlanetYouth Fee reflects a renewed and expanded commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. We continue to contribute to carbon offsetting, but we also focus on creating a better future for new generations through education.

With this change, we continue supporting initiatives that help reduce our carbon footprint, but we are also committed to the development of young people in vulnerable communities, providing them with educational tools for their personal and professional growth.

Environmental Awareness

What is Green Heart?

 Having a Green Heart means being aware of the impact we have on our stakeholders and taking actions to reduce and/or compensate for such impact. 

Why do we have Green Heart? 

•  Because we measure the CO2 emissions of our fleet and create awareness of our environmental impact. 
•  Fourth tier Sustainable Tourism Certification. 
• Hertz Costa Rica applies and obeys the rules to conform to the national regulations that govern our activities, as well as the Law for the Conservation of Wildlife. Under this Law, the keeping of wild animals in captivity and of some plant species is considered illegal.
•  We compensate our carbon footprint through the purchase of Carbon Offset Credits from the National Fund for Forest Financing, known as FONAFIFO. FONAFIFO executes the National Environmental Services Program whose mission is to preserve and recuperate Costa Rican forests through a strategic financial stimulus plan.
• All of our gasoline-fuel TOYOTA vehicles have a VVT-I engine. This unique TOYOTA technology ensures high-level performance and more efficient fuel consumption while reducing CO2 emissions
